In 2018, as the manager of a renowned wine cellar in Toulouse, I had the privilege of discovering the Victor Hugo Market, a vibrant place where the city's gastronomic richness unfolds fully. My role at the cellar allowed me to explore the hidden treasures of this iconic market, with varied and refined products that never ceased to amaze me. Our cellar's concept was built on the art of pairing selected vintages with the quality products our customers chose, whether for a charcuterie board, an assortment of seafood to share with friends, or different dishes to cook at home. This approach allowed me to dive deep into the secrets of the Victor Hugo Market, becoming closely acquainted with the merchants and their products.

My love for travel and discovery naturally led me to want to share this unique experience with tourists visiting the Pink City. The Victor Hugo Market is a true treasure chest, filled with gastronomic secrets that deserve to be revealed.

My professional and academic journey has been profoundly shaped by my passion for gastronomy and wine. After obtaining a culinary vocational diploma in 2003, I decided to head to Burgundy to pursue studies in viticulture and oenology at the prestigious viticultural school of Beaune. There, I learned the art of growing vines and winemaking at renowned estates such as Chandon de Briailles in Savigny-lès-Beaune, Joseph Voillot in Volnay, and Domaine Leroy in Auxey-Duresses.

These enriching experiences led me to work for two years in Australia, then one year in South America, where I was able to deepen my understanding of wine and gastronomy on an international scale. Gastronomy and wine are at the heart of my daily life, and it is with immense joy that I wish to invite you to discover, through this project, the richness of the Victor Hugo Market and the gastronomic treasures it has to offer.

History of the Victor Hugo Market

Located in the heart of Toulouse, it is one of the iconic landmarks of the Pink City and has embodied the gastronomic soul of the region for over a century. Inaugurated in 1896, it quickly became a true hub for food lovers. Today, it is considered one of the finest gastronomic markets in France, housing over 80 merchants who offer an incredible variety of products. It is a living place where tradition blends with modernity, a symbol of Toulouse culture where local heritage and culinary innovation come together.
